Hi All:
On the weekend of June 25, 2010, Prince Edward Island COPA Flight 125 (Summerside) and COPA Flight 57(Charlottetown) are hosting the COPA National Fly-in AGM (Plane Times 2010) at Summerside airport located in Slemon Park. Depending on weather, we expect to see at least 200 personal aviation aircraft and 400 members from across Canada to come to the Island for this event. We have arranged for extended stay packages with various businesses which will have special pricing for those who want to come early and/or stay longer. This will help ease the burden of having to deal with bad weather.
The weekend will start on Thursday evening, June 24, with a Meet and Greet for the Directors, local
COPA Flight volunteers, participants and invited guests. On Friday evening there will be another Meet
and Greet for the whole membership, participants and invited guests. Both Meet and Greets will feature
fresh PEI mussels. Saturday will see various seminars, the trade show and the AGM concluding with
the banquet on Saturday evening, featuring fresh PEI lobster.
As an added bonus, the Saturday 1330hrs seminar will be the dedication of Vintage Wings of Canada's
newly restored Westland Lysander. The Lysander is flying to PEI for this special dedication to Cliff
Stewart, a veteran from Charlottetown who was pulled out of occupied France more than once on the
Lysander. Cliff and his family will be there personally to partake in the dedication. Vintage Wings of
Canada is also planning on having their Corsair and Swordfish drop in for the weekend on their way to
Halifax for a Naval celebration on June 28 and 29.
This first contact is to give you the opportunity to be a participant in Plane Times 2010 in one or more
of the following ways.
The Trade Show will be held in the hangar in the main building where the AGM, seminars, and the Friday Meet and Greet are taking place. Actually, the Meet and Greet will be in the same hangar as the Trade Show. As most suppliers now have their own portable booths, we are not planning on providing them. This will help keep the cost down to both the trade show participants and the visiting aviators. We will provide tables if required and electricity will be available. For any other requests, we will try our best to accommodate. We will put you in touch with Global if you require a booth set-up. The cost is planned to be $250.00 for a 12x8 space. This will not include admission for the Saturday evening
banquet but will include the Friday evening Meet and Greet and the Saturday luncheon.
We are planning at least three seminar spots on Saturday. If you are interested in putting on a seminar
please let us know the topic. We are projecting a seminar length of 45 minutes, including questions, but
would be willing to talk if a different time length was required. As we are trying to help keep your costs
down, we will not be charging you a fee for putting on your presentation.
We would also like to give you the opportunity to be one of the Plane Times 2010 sponsors. There are
various events that you could fully or partially sponsor. Possible sponsorship opportunities include:
• Thursday's COPA Director's Meet and Greet
• Friday's Director's meeting morning and afternoon breaks
• Friday evening full membership Meet and Greet
• Saturday's Trade Show and Seminars morning and afternoon breaks
• Saturday's luncheon
• Saturday early evening full membership happy hour
• Saturday evening banquet
• Saturday evening entertainment
• General sponsorship
For more information on expected costs, expected participation, etc, please contact us. All participants
will have their names in COPA Flight, COPA's national magazine with an estimated monthly readership
of 50,000. They will also be on the Plane Times 2010 web site and be recognized at the Fly-in and at
the Saturday evening banquet. Please do not hesitate to contact one of the undersigned if you have any questions.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Plane Times 2010, COPA's Fly-in AGM.

Subject: Lysander
Hi All
On the weekend of June 25, 2010, Prince Edward Island COPA Flights 125 (Summerside) and 57 (Charlottetown) are hosting the COPA National Fly-in AGM (COPA Plane Times 2010) . It is hard to say how many to expect but the 2009 event in Calgary had around 700 people at the Saturday evening banquet. With co-operating weather, we could easily see 200 General Aviation aircraft and 400 members from across the country to come to the Island for this event. PEI lobster and mussels plus our fine beaches and golfing are great drawing cards.
Another major drawing card planned for Plane Times 2010 is the dedication of Vintage Wings of Canada newly restored WWII era Westland Lysander. This aircraft is most famous for its mission in WWII of dropping off and picking up spies behind enemy lines. Vintage Wings of Canada is in the process of restoring to flying condition a Lysander and will have it flying this winter. They are planning on flying it to PEI for Plane Times 2010 to have the dedication of the Lysander as part of the weekend. One exciting part of bringing the Lysander to PEI is the fact that there is a veteran still living in Charlottetown who was dropped off and picked up in Occupied France by the Lysander.
It is projected that it will cost at least $6,000.00 to bring the Lysander to PEI and so we are looking for sponsors. A sponsor can be an individual, Company, whatever. And since Vintage Wings of Canada is a public foundation, all donations over $50.00 will receive a receipt for income tax purposes.
Please check out their web site at www.vintagewings.ca/. Please contact one of the undersigned with your support.
Thank you
Barry
